1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of the Growing Star Driving School website and to the driving lessons, courses and related services we provide (together, the “Services”). By booking a lesson, registering for a course or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

2. Our services

Growing Star Driving School offers in-car driving lessons, the Ministry-approved Beginner Driver Education (BDE) course and road-test preparation packages in Ajax and across Durham Region. Package contents, prices and availability are shown on our pricing page and may change from time to time.

3. Booking and payment

• A booking is confirmed once you have registered and we have confirmed a date and time with you.
• Prices are shown in Canadian dollars. Applicable taxes (such as HST) are added where required.
• Packages may be paid in full or in instalments, as described when you register. Instalments are due on the dates agreed at registration.
• You are responsible for giving us accurate contact and licence information.

4. Cancellations and rescheduling

Please give us at least 24 hours’ notice when you need to cancel or change an appointment. Late changes or missed lessons may incur a cancellation charge, and appointment times may be adjusted by our administrators when necessary. If we have to cancel a lesson (for example because of severe weather or instructor illness), we will offer you a new time at no extra cost.

5. Student responsibilities

To take part in a lesson you must:

• hold a valid learner’s permit or licence that allows you to drive, and bring it to every lesson;
• arrive on time, rested, and free from alcohol, drugs or any medication that could affect your driving;
• follow your instructor’s directions and all traffic laws; and
• treat our instructors, staff and vehicles with respect.

We may end a lesson immediately if we believe it is unsafe to continue. In that case the lesson may be treated as completed.

6. Vehicles and safety

Lessons take place in dual-control vehicles that are insured and maintained for driver training. Your instructor has the final say on any safety matter during a lesson.

7. Test results

We prepare you as well as we can, but we cannot guarantee that you will pass a road test or any other exam. The result depends on your own performance on the day and on the examiner’s assessment.

8. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Growing Star Driving School is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the Services. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under applicable consumer-protection laws, or our responsibility for matters that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Website use

The content of this website, including text, images and logos, belongs to Growing Star Driving School or its licensors. You may view it for your own personal use, but you may not copy, republish or sell it without our written permission. We try to keep the website accurate and available, but we do not promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted.

10. Privacy

How we collect and use your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
